I put up some pictures of the modifications on Facebook( public ) at:

In response to some offline requests .
In a previous post I wrote:
.................................................. I got a Giffin
grip and started using
that a lot. I have somewhat modified the Giffin grip so I can grab
smaller diameter items and I found some individual adjustable sliders
that allow centering an off center piece. These appear to have been
made by Giffin but they no longer sell them. And of course I use all
the other stuff that goes on the Giffin grip too. Depends on the job,
it is one of my favorite tools.

The free sliders were regular sliders with the lower part cut off so
that they do not engage the spiral raised track in the bottom of the
Giffin Grip. Then there is a saw cut parallel to the surface of the
slider and a hole is drilled straight down for a set screw that has a
thumb screw type nut for finger tightening, at the bottom the head of
this screw has a star washer to give friction to hold the screw from
turning as you tighten the thumb screw. Tightening pulls the lower
end of the slider up which is below the surface of the grip to
tighten it in place. You can see the saw cut in one or two of the
pictures.

The extended sliders simply have a small piece of hardwood glued on
the ends and a Giffin supplied rubber stuck on the ends, Giffin was
giving away these end rubbers at NCECA so that is where I got them. I
think they sell them also. Pliobond adhesive, epoxy or that E5000
stuff works for the wood. The rubber things have glue on them under
release paper so no other glue is needed there.
