He followed Mel's advice, backed off on the gas during reduction when
the kiln stalled, and the temperature sailed right up. The results are
gorgeous, and the photos are on the blog.
I talked Jim through lighting the kiln and gave him my firing
schedule. After that, he was on his own. This morning, he said he
wasn't sure if he should take his work home or go straight to the
gallery. His first firing - and it's 100%. He's very happy.
Should be a tad easier now to convince Jim that we need our own kiln.
