glaze simular to archie's base?

I am just starting to replace my store bought glazes with ones that I mix
myself. Does anyone have a recipe for a glaze that works like Archie's
Base. I need a glaze that, when combined with other glazes, will cause the
glazes to run and break nicely over texture. I fire cone 6 oxidation with
a B-mix clay. Would a cone 04 base glaze do the same thing?

Thanks,

What I've discovered over the past five or so years since I had to
convert to electric is, that if you layer different glazes ( with
different ingredients and not just colorants) they will often mix
streaky and textured and look great. It also works ( for me) to fire
a ^6 glaze over a ^10 glaze--in fact sometimes, and rather often,
it's fabulous. I spray my glazes so it 's been hard to be consistent
in application. I find all this layering works best if I use a
hydrometer for each glaze and keep good notes! The sad thing is that
you have to make lots of pots and test test TEST! ;>}
There's a lot of info in the archives, too. Things to look at like
the bible of new-to-electric pottery . You know. M^6 glazes. It's a
WONDERFUL book. Buy it. Use it.
Ron and John did not pay me for saying that!

Onward thru the fog-
