ron has suggested to me, that in most cases
a bit of rutile will always soften the harshness of white.

mel: I am in the process of developing a slip that resembles the old
English slipware of the Medieval pots that have been my reference for
almost 3 decades. I had thought to put a bit of my local clay in the recipe
as well as some rutile. You have just tipped the scale. I will put some
rutile in the slip. I don't want clinical white e-ware and i can't use the
white lead that I lust for so I'm fudging the best I can.
I just wanted to say that Robin Hopper received over 200 get well messages
from Clayart. Man, is that not a life line?
Thanx Clayart for being there for a friend in need.
ciao,
Tony
