MJ-

Silica 20
Kaolin 15
Calcined Kaolin 20
Ball Clay(om4) 15
Custer 20
zircopax 5
borax 5

This is a crackle slip but by adjusting the clays and using it thinner it
won't crackle. It's WHITE. Takes to bisque just fine. Enjoy. Consider it
a gift, keep the ludefisk.

You're on! This works great. Quantities are odd, but it's written as my
teacher mixes it himself right out of his notebook, so adjust for your
own needs accordingly. If you like it, the ludefisk should be sent to
Bill van Gilder :)

It appears that Mr. Mayor has thrown down the gauntlet,

but he has not made clear the rules for this contest.

Does the slip/engobe need to stick to bisque;
Before or after firing?
Before or after glazing?

What qualifies as "make a difference?"
Is it color?
Surface finish?
Texture?
Sticktoitevus?

We really have to have these rules clarified
'cause I want to win that prize
(but please don't cook the lutefisk first,
as I need to freshen the air in my home.)

For the prize you are offering I will make certain I come in at least 2nd.

Have you ever just watered down your slip and applied the thinner liquid to
bisque?

2nd option - calcine all the clay in the recipe.

Ah Mel-san,
Careful now; those two recipes I sent in were tried and tested a few years =
b=3D
ack and routinely given out to our customers who needed them.=3D20
No one ever came back and complained, we only got lots of thanks!

By the by, I don't eat fish, even if it does play a Lute!
