one way to get a great many recipes
and ideas out on clayart is to have fun with it.
(i have tried many slips on bisque and have the
peeling off pots to prove it. i gave up on the
stuff years back. never worth it to me...i keep it
simple.)
i really do not use slips on bisque.
i have no need for that type of decoration.
but, many of you need and want that information.
you sure have some great ideas now.
thanks to the many that have sent us great ideas
for calcined slips.
in fact, i don't use the word engobe at all.
most american potters know what slips are, and
that there are many variations in slips.
i have always taught that we have two or three
ways to cover a clay pot. slips and glazes.
there are thousands of variations in those
covers.
