"A weekend kaolin spill in Jefferson County (Georgia USA) involved
approximately 679 tons of the milky colored material, according to
Georgia=3D92s Environmental Protection Division."

Funny thing is that many people are acting like it is a mini Chernobyl.

I read the article and I didn't see anyone as being panicked -or a mini Che=
rnobyl... It did say that the environmental impact will be evaluated, lot's=
of possibilities there, constipation from drinking too much of the water d=
ownstream...? -Rimas

I know a good many people in the area. The article was straight reporting
on the spill not on the reactions of the people in the area. Most are
seeing it for what it is but there is a loud minority that are
overreacting.

I propose opening a pipe of Gerstley Borate, a pipe of silica and
calling all local potters down to the stream for some baptismal-style
glazing...

Looking for expensive colorants.
Thanks to recent heavy rains in the NT the derailment of a locomotive and
its mineral load something like 1200 tons of Copper Concentrate, valued at
$US 8 million has been spilled into the environment.
SA will soon have the largest open cut mine extracting Copper, Gold and
Uranium.
