Just to add one other note. If an earthenware mug is porous,putting it
in a microwave( to heat water for tea or coffee)the handle will heat to
the point where your customer will burn their hand. Test several mugs
before selling them to the public.
It may take several times of use and washings to get the moisture in the
body, if this is going to be an issue.
Underfired cone 6 stoneware can also suffer this issue.
