propane bottle difficulties

Hello my brothers and sisters,

I am still having problem with my propane bottle leaking from the
valve. The seat has a rubber busing that makes contact with the
regulator fitting but of course it is cracked or damaged in some other
way. My local propane dealer says they are no longer allowed to make
repairs to valves and that I will have to buy a whole new valve. All
for a 1 dollar seal? Are you kidding?

Now this is the new OPD valve I'm talking about and I use a POL style
fitting (interior, left-hand thread). I'd hate to have to waste an
entire bottle of propane because I can't stop the flippin' leak at the
valve. Any suggestions on how to temporarily use this valve until I
can deplete the bottle. Anyone used one bottle to fill another
bottle? I ran the small bbq bottle out of fuel last night before I
finished a firing and I had to run to the store and buy a refill tank.
This is cutting into my NCECA money, y'all.

Taylor,

How big a tank? I have an adapter that I fill small
Coleman bottles off of my Blue Rhino tank.

40 pound tank. It's not that old either, so I'm pretty frosted.
