large platters and drying

I throw 32-34" platters and also throw a foot on the piece because I
want a certain look and do not want to trim excessive clay from under
the platter. For drying I flip the platter and cover the piece with a
lightweight plastic. I cut a circle from the plastic and drape it over
the platter leaving the foot exposed so the interior of the platter
dries first. If it is hot I wax the rim so it dries last. =3D20

Do whatever works for your particular situation. =3D20
