First let me say it=3D92s been years since I have posted here. I have been =
=3D
=3D20
a potters council member for many years.
I'm a full time clay person. My studio goes threw about 10 tons a year =3D2=
0=3D
of porcelain-except for this upcoming year
I'm a production potter who has just had wrist surgery and am down to =3D20=
=3D
only one hand for a while. The procedure is called proximal row =3D20
carpectomy-where your lower 3 bones in wrist are removed. -
Then the hand shrinks some where the small bones were -the tendons =3D20
take about a year to get shorter for your grip to return to about 85%-=3D20=
=3D
you also lose about 15% mobility-which I had long ago lost.
It=3D92s my right hand, which is my dominant one.
The surgery was done by one of the top hand surgeons on the west coast =3D2=

at ucsf Jan 3rd
I did get another opinion as well before going ahead with this.
I had the choice of wrist fusion or this .The bones where rubbing =3D20
against one another. I really had no choice.
Sorry about the typing/caps/etc/as its one hand type job.
My question is any potters out there who have had this done???
And if so how=3D92s the wrist working now and how long where you out?
I'm on pain meds for 3 weeks so I=3D92m bit fuzzy.
Seems I injured my wrist 25-30 years ago and it just caught up with me =3D2=
0=3D
the past year
This is not related to the lesser carpel tunnel procedure-which I =3D20
gladly would have traded for.
Anyone out there with this procdure?
