Marci Blattenberger and I are doing a lecture at NCECA in March on
historical and contemporary china painting, and the techniques and
materials that contemporary china painters use that potters are not
familiar with. We've submitted the text already, but not yet the
pictures. So this is the last call for anyone to send us pictures of
interesting work in china paint or other overglazes like lusters.
We're pretty well supplied with pictures of traditional china
painting, but if anyone has any pictures of work using structure
pastes, raised enamels, chipping powder, glass ice, Crystal Magic, pen
work, or any other stuff like that, now is the time to send them.
Also looking for china painting on stuff like wood fire, raku,
earthenware, etc. If you make your own functional ware and use china
paint on it, I'd especially like to see it. Email them to me at pjlewing@c=
omcast.net
.
And if you don't know what any of that stuff is, come to the lecture.
It's Thursday morning at 9.
