Dear Ben Shelton,
I would suggest that a glaze that contains Cristobalite is immature on the
grounds that an ingredient containing Silicon Dioxide in one crystalline an=
d
form or another is pesent. To become a stable glaze all ingredients must
melt or dissolve to form a homogenous fluid. (See definitions in Singer and
Singer, "Industrial Ceramics)
