What a loss! Cooper was a wonderful potter, a "pioneer", as it were, in =3D
electric firing. not boastful and confrontational a la Leach, but =3D
making lovely elegant pots in beautiful colors. He wrote a number of =3D
indispensable books. Along with Eileen Lewenstein he founded "Ceramic =3D
Review", a wonderful, peerless independent magazine.=3D20

Potters do not achieve the international fame musicians, actors, writers =
=3D
do. But certainly Cooper (like Lewenstein) deserved as much recognition =
=3D
as Lennon and Dench and Ishiguro. =3D20

Anyway. It is a loss to us all. But his books live on. The blessing =3D
and comfort of literacy.

In the results from an Internet search on Emmanuel Cooper
I see that he passed away on January 21.
