cremains (bone ash) in porcelain?

Can I mix some portion of cremains into porcelain without whacking out
the clay body too much?
I'm wanting to make some memory beads and would rather not glaze them.
Oh...can either fire to cone 6 ox or cone 10 redux.
Thanks!

Be careful for too much fluxing of the clay,( more so in reduction firing
than electric) as bone ash will flux the clay even more. If you bury the
beads in silica or other fire-resistant material, it may melt somewhat, but
you may be able to sand or tumble it smooth.

Cathi
I've been doing tests with bone ash in clay bodies using up to 35% bone
ash. Commercial bone china goes as high as 45% ash.
Adding flux to an existing body will (at some point) over flux it.

My starting point has been the 4 part porcelaine recipe (25 kaolin 25 ball
25 SiO2 25 spar) The local clay I use has a lot of silt in it.
Rationalizing that silt is mostly silica I put this clay in as the 25kaolin
and the 25 SiO2 or 50% local clay,25%OM4,25% Bone Ash plus 5% bentonite.

In your place I'd do tests with store-bought bone ash and then switch to
the cremains for the final product. Like 25%kaolin, 25% OM4, 25%bone ash,
25% SiO2.
