Many years back I read (I'm pretty sure it was in CM) a short article on =

a low-fire=3D20

but then=3D20
could get great copper flashing effects by torching with a propane torch.=

In fact,=3D20
I made up a sample and it worked wonderfully. Unfortunately I can find n=

The Valdez Flashfiring uses a glaze called Copper Lust and must first be
fired in heavy reduction prior to using the torch to selectively bring out
color after is has cooled from the kiln firing. Copper Lust has both Cobal=
t
Carbonate and Copper Carbonate as colorants.

There were some instructions with the glaze recipe that might help as well:
After firing the glaze to cone 04, it is torched with an acetylene
torch to produce raku peacock feather colors. A fine point flame
produces dramatically better results."
"Overall heating of the piece -first in a kiln or with the torch-will
prevent cracking"
