There are galleries and there are galleries. I'm not so sure that everyone =

is turning away from woodfired work. I stopped in at the Northern Clay Cent=

er within the past year and believe saw=3DA0 woodfired work... What amazes =
me=3D
is the diversity and competence of available work, check out the range of =

artists at the Schaller Gallery in Michigan:=3D0A=3D0Ahttp://www.schallerga=

the=3D
decline of woodfire but the escalation of decoration, both by image transf=

er processes and plain old drawing, BUT just because it's possible to stick=
=3D
a leaf image on the side of a pot doesn't mean it makes it attractive, it'=
=3D
s how many and WHERE you stick them that can make something attractive or a=

ppealing, or not. The variety and range of design principles found in the S=

challer Gallery stable is astounding... Then there's Charlie Cummings Galle=

ry in Florida, Mudfire Gallery outside of Atlanta, AKAR in Iowa... and I'm =
=3D
sure there are more. Minnesota is not the only State that represents a rang=

e of proficient potters. -Rimas=3D0A
