printer recommendation for decals

Greetings!

My HP 1320 broke the first time I tried using it to print my own decals.
Someone said it sounded like a problem with the fuser which is a difficult
fix from what I understand. Can anyone recommend another printer? I'm
reluctant to get another 1320 since it broke the first time I put decal
printer in it. Up to that point it had been printing with regular printer
paper just fine. I think the decal paper might have been too heavy for it.

If this happened to me I would remove the fuser and use it to print
unfused images on plain paper.
Unfused images were the first kind I used in the first days of iron
laser images. They can be applied to wet clay by just laying them on.
They are easily smudged while still on the paper so use care.
Regards.
