What "we" need is a few good "how-to" articles on spraying glaze.
All my life I have poured, dipped, or brushed glaze on. But, now that =3D
my hands are in pretty poor shape, these have become difficult for =3D
bigger, "clumsier" pots.
So spraying glaze becomes very desirable.
How come I find no articles on how to do it? Not what sprayer to =3D
buy...I have a Cricket--but advice about glaze thickness, composition, =3D
additives, preparation of bisque, thickness of layers and so on? =3D20

Lili,
An online search revealed:

Here's a good thorough article on spraying glazes:

I'm sure there's more information out there, but this should answer most
of your questions.

Good day Lili,
Our buddies "Down Under" at the Lue Pottery have a great treatise available
on their website:
http://www.luepottery.hwy.com.au/PDF/glaze%20spray.pdf
It's a gem. I found the explanation on what the various knobs do especiall=
y
helpful for my spray gun. You can tell the author has used a spray gun.
If you spray a lot, then the weight of the spray gun can start to become a
problem, so it is not a panacea.

Hi Lili - just oder Steven Hill's DVD on spraying glazes - he's the master
of the spray gun! he's also been giving three day courses on spraying and
oxidation firing to get redux results - maybe he's giving a course near you=
?
Check his website. It takes a lot of practice to get consistent results.
It's the hardest part of making a pot. It's like painting on a canvas.
