I always bisque a couple of extra covers and lids on production type
pieces. My casserole lids and storage jars are sized whereby wet, the
lid opening always measures to the half inch (I was taught to use a
ruler rather than a caliper for this reason as well as others). This
way, I'm much more likely to have a lid in my 'lid box' that will fit if
someone breaks theirs. Happened with a sugar bowl not that long ago.
