If the decal is on a surface where it can be used, I use a rubber
roller about 75 years old that I used as a kid to ferrotype glossy
black and white prints. Put a paper towel over the decal and roll the
decal.I guess a bayer would be about the same.
if the surface curves up so the roller can not get in there I use a
small damp sponge and no paper towel..

A decal squeegee works best to squeegee the air and water out from under th=
=3D
e decal. They can be found at some of the open stock decal, china paint and=
=3D
porcelain blank vendors. You can also use a soft rubber rib or a kitchen s=
=3D
patula that you have pulled the handle out of. Once again, if someone will =
=3D
post the attached, it's my decal application tool kit; lower left illustrat=
=3D
es the kitchen spatula and a soft rubber rib. I think the color coded rubbe=
=3D
r rib people changed their color coding since I got the rib in the illustra=
=3D
tion; you need the softest available and it's convenient if one side is str=
=3D
aight. Before the color coding and shape assortment days, ribs were typical=
=3D
ly black and=3DA0 came in 2 sizes as well as 2 stiffnesses; for years I use=
d =3D
the smaller softer one. I also vaguely remember a blue (soft) rubber rib...=

Many ceramic supply companies and ceramic shops that sell cast ceramics a=

offer glazing classes carry rubber squeegees. They look like a rubber ri=
=3D
b but=3D20
are softer.
