Hi all,

I have been using Cone 5 B-Mix for horse hair Raku. I usually only bisque =
it
to Cone 010, which helps cut down on breakage due to thermal shock. I jus=
t got
a hold of some Cone 10 B-Mix Clay, and would like to use it for horse hair,=
but
I'm not sure how Cone 10 will fare with a Cone 010 bisque. Is that too low =
of a
bisque temperature for Cone 10 Clay? I am also using Terra Sig on the piec=
es
prior to bisque.

Thanks,

I typically bisque to cone 012 or lower. What will your final fire
temp be. That might be an issue.

It's very fragile at cone 010. One of my previous instructors used cone 010=
=3D
for his home studio work because he liked how it glazed. I found this out =
=3D
because I broke a piece of his bisque ware he'd brought in from home. I was=
=3D
used to cone 08 bisque so I grabbed it and man handled it like you really =
=3D
shouldn't do anyway and it just crumbled in my hands. I'm heavy handed so I=
=3D
bisque to cone 08, but 010 does work as long as you're careful and gentle.=
