removing copper reds from a hot kiln

It's been a while since I used Pete's Copper Red, ^10. However, when I =3D
did use it, the kiln wasn't opened until it was 100 degrees F. or lower. =
I've no idea if that helped or hindered the copper reds. I do know I got =
some really nice copper red pieces out of that firing.=3D20

The only reason I would have for opening a hot kiln is if I'm doing =3D
raku. Otherwise, I wait until the kiln is completely cool. No pinging, =3D
no cracking when I open the door and I can remove pieces with naked =3D
