A two-day weekend workshop with Potter's Council charter member Eric =3D
Serritella will combine instructor demonstration and student hands-on =3D
participation to create birch bark from clay. Eric will share a wealth =3D
of clay techniques to make realistic bark baskets and vessels. Each =3D
student will try the techniques on small pieces to keep. The students =3D
will learn how to create large slabs without the use of a slab roller, =3D
how to handle, assemble, and use templates for making projects from =3D
slabs, and how to mixing and use of slips and ceramic stains for visual =3D
accents that mimic the look of birch bark and leather straps.
