The Silver City Clay Festival is almost here,T starting late next week.
there are workshops ,community events, lectures, a tile auction, exhibits=
=3D
and even a street dance. Silver City has accommodations downtown, (art de=

era Murray hotel, for example) as well as on the outskirts. visit their =

Lee Gruber of Syzygy Tile is really at the center of this effort, thought=
=3D
the whole town is getting involved. Syzygy Tile is one of those companies=
=3D
you may not have heard about. they make a lovely line of tile and have
managed to keep a good number of people gainfully employed for many year=
=3D
s,
even through the tough times.=3D20
Tile Heritage Foundation will be there and will start off the week with a=
=3D
tile auction. There will be an exhibit ,lectures and tours focusing on th=
=3D
e
mimbreno of the region.=3D20
There are so many activities and there is no charge for the festival itse=
=3D

I'll be teaching a hands on relief tile and relief sculpting workshop at=
=3D
Syzygy Tile . it will be a small group . materials and tools provided.
Silver city is an easy drive from Phoenix, Tucson, Albuquerque, El Paso, =
=3D
and
even do able from southern California, Colorado and parts of Texas,
Oklahoma, etc. it is a few hours drive from El Paso, Albuquerque, Phoenix=
=3D
and Tucson airports. and it is in the mountains, next to the Gila
wilderness, and generally cooler than the lower elevations this time of y=
=3D
