Hello Clayarters,
A fellow potter, Gail at Chickenlips Pottery in New York state, has
fallen on hard times and needs to raise CASH pronto. She has to sell her
new, never-used pug mill and her kiln which has only been fired eight
times.
The pug mill is a Bluebird Mfg. Model 440 deairing. It was manufactured
and bought in Dec. `95. (Verified this with Bluebird, myself.) It's
never had any clay put through it. Asking price: $1,725. That's what
she paid for it. These days, the same model sells for $2,260. Gail
says she'll get it boxed back up and she's willing to split the shipping
cost. Shipping weight: 112 lbs. That's about $75 to ship it to the
distant-most reaches of the U.S.
The kiln is an L&L Model 2736 which was also purchased in 1995. It was
only fired eight times to bisque or cone 6. It has a kiln sitter/timer
and she's throwing in the circuit breaker box. Paid $1,700 in `95.
Asking $1,200. Gail says it's in mint condition.
Please don't write me for any more details. I don't have them. But,
Gail would love to hear from you! Call her at (914) 744-6060 anytime.
Good firings,
Daryl Baird
