i use the hank murrow method of holding for two hours
at a 'perfect' 1900F. also, my experience with crystals
and temmoku was `get it hot`.
i fired to cone 12-13 and then did the hold down at 1900F.
(those that do not believe me come to my home
and see the box of 50 cones melted cone 11. melted.
the multiple temmoku's blend and run and make the
hare's fur. the crystals are just a bonus. a tiny bit of bone ash
adds great red color. i have only used joe koon's recipes..they are
published.
