Hi Clayarters --
If I got a nickel for every question I've asked of this forum and a penny for
all the informative answers, I'd be pottin' in some swanky danky resort off
the coast of Rio de Janerio! Here's yet another one...
We ran across a Model F-100 Oscar-Paul wheel in storage today. It appears to
have been manufactured around the 1950s or so. Does anyone know anything about
this brand of wheel?
I plugged it in, turned it on, checked the foot pedal to see if it varied the
speed of the head. All seemed pretty good til I put pressure on the head and
the darn thing virtually stopped.
We then took the cover off, checked out the parts, tightened an allen nut at
the shaft base at the (driver?) pulley and started her up again. That appeared
to take care of the problem at that location. I pressured the head again, it
stopped, and this time the belt slipped around the other end of the pulley
system.
Could the belt on this wheel be too loose and thus cause the wheel head to
stop when pressure is applied to it? I was wondering if we got a smaller belt
than the existing 4L190 whether that would keep the wheel head from stopping
when pressure is applied.
I hope this one makes sense...
TIA
