I researched a paper on Romanian Pottery this summer at several libraries and
visited native potters there. I want to provide my ceramic students with an
opportunity to slip trail similar to the way rustic potters do in Romania.
Therefore I am looking for information and accounts that Clayart members may
have about slip and slip trailing. My students have earthenware clay
available, as well as oxides and mason stains. Any information about the
mixing and application will be appreciated. Paula Sibrack, in the woods of

All I can say on the subject is: check Pottery Making Illustrated, current
issue,(I think it is Vol I #1) which contains most of what I can say on
slip. Some recipes are
available there, others in most books. Get ahold of A Phillips Slips and
Slipware (Try Potters Shop)
