I have now posted 47 copies of the lichen glaze chart for adding
colorants to 10 different glaze bases. If I missed anybody, please let
me know. I hope to see some lichen glazes out there somewhere in
galleries, shops, studios when we're traveling later this year...maybe
then I can figure out ways to use them myself. I hope I've made it
clear that these are Robin Hopper's glazes and that if you really want
to learn more about them you need to attend his summer workshop at the
Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts. Somebody referred to
them as my glazes. No, no, no! I have no glazes nor anything else
related to clay that originated with me. I'm still trying to imitate;
can't even hope to emulate at this point, although I agree with our
clayarter experts that it's okay to copy in order to learn, since our
final product is never the same as our model, anyway. Thanks to Mel for
mentioning Tony Clennell's glaze and the pot pictured in Jack Troy's
woodfiring book. Just looked it up. Terrific! Guess I'll get back to
trying to imitate...

In the Mojave having trouble drying pots for the first time ever. We
usually use a damp box to slow up the process for even drying but El
Nino has changed that.
