I recycle most of my clay scraps and i always Wet sweep the floor. Usually I
lightly hose water the floor then wet sweep. Clay particals stay air borne up
to 48 hours, if I've created dust I mist the air with a hand held sprayer.

Home depot carries a special filter for shop vacs that filters to .3 microns.
It's made especially for filtering out ultra fine particles of dust (wood,
clay, plaster, etc.) You purchase it according to the brand and size of your
shop vac. The one they carry is made by clean stream. They have the most
reasonable price for this item I've seen anywhere...about $20. I could never
use my shop vac because it used to send clouds of clay dust back into the air.
With this filter I get no clay dust.

I also have a whole shop filter that hangs from the ceiling. This was an
expensive investment, but so is life. I got it from A.R.T. I think Bailey
carries one too.

We need to get a "whole shop" ventlation system installed into our basement
shop. It is a combination clay/wood shop space and the dust is tremendous!
The very end of the space opens to outdoors, but there are no windows that
open in the wood shop area which is about 60 feet back. The square footage of
the space is probably around 1000.
Does anyone have a name of a system that we can install ourselves?? Would a
simple exhaust fan, such as a range top or bathroom, do for that size of
space?
