I'm not familiar with any books other than on the subject of pottery written
by Daniel Rhodes. Those are "Stoneware And Porcelain", "Kilns", and "Clay And
Glazes For The Potter". Of the three only "Clay And Glazes" is still in print.

Daniel also wrote: Tamba Pottery: The Timeless Art of a Japanese
Village. Kodansh International Ltd. 1970. He always had an interest
in Japanese ceramics and Tachikui in the late 1960's. Fed Olsen was
working with a potter in Japan and met him there.
An interesting sidelight.... The musuem at Santa Clara University, CA
had an exhibit of photographs of the intenment camp for
Japanese-Americans at Heart Mountain, Wyoming during WWII. Among them,
I found a picture of Daniel teaching some of the internees how to work
in clay. The goal was that they would make the dinnerware for the
camp.

YIKES! I also forgot about "Tamba Pottery" by Dan Rhodes. My mental data base
has gone wacky!
Thanks to all of you that emailed me with the reminder!
