I checked with my local supplier to see if the Shimpo ball mill rack is still
available. Apparently it's still in the catalogue. It costs about $200. To th
add a $100 for a large porcelain jar and pebbles and you still have a reasonable
price for a ball mill -- if you have a Shimpo wheel.
My supplier said that he thought a rock-tumbler would make a fair ball mill -- o
of those machines used to polish rocks. A fair-size tumbler and rubber jar woul
about $135. here in Houston. Has anyone had experience with one of these used t
mill ceramic materials?
