2nds. I have problems throwing anything away. I'm a recovering packrat.
Most
of my expermential pieces are wild & fun. I use my dremil tool to mark the
bottom 2nd or EX for expermential & I sell them at my studio sales in a
special
out of the way section clearly marked expermental, transitional, 2nds. The
engraved bottom lets a serious potter looking at my work know the piece is not
representational of my current work. I thought of using black acrylic but
realized it would wash away. Additionally marked as a second the piece is not
likely to be given as a gift. Discussing the "flaw" I have a chance to educate
people & they realize I'm up front with them about the quality of the rest of
my work. People actually appreciate the trials & tribulations craftspeople
experience. It's good to let them know it only looks easy. Some of the
transitional works are really exciting. I make a few bucks, people get
something inexpensive & quirky, I don't clutter up the landfill.
