Aloha all;
Anybody have a recipe for 'Reeve's Green'? It's a ^10 chrome green mainly
used for brush and trained decoration.

Dean--Here's the Reeve Green formula I have:

Custer spar 75
Whiting 15
Silica 5
Kaolin (I use EPK) 5
Green Chrome Oxide 4
Bentonite 3

This is a very opaque intense green fired in ^ 10 reduction. I got the
formula from Warren MacKenzie, who was using it as a decorating glaze over
other glazes.

My old plates with Reeves on them are all pitted and scratched. It is
one of the things that has made me wonder about putting chrome pigmented
glazes as decorators on pottery interiors.

Here's a slight variation on the last Reeve Green posted- it's a 500 gm (1
pt.) batch so divide by 5 for percent. It's supposed to look good over temoku.

Reeve green ^10R

Custer 375
Kaolin 25
Silica 25
Whiting 75

bentonite 15
chrome 20
Cob.carb 15
