Hi.

I didn't want to drill a hole in the foundation of my house to install this
vent in my basement (I knew we might sell the house soon). I made a window
replacement panel with the right size hole in it. I mounted the vent to the
plywood panel, insulated it, then put the panel in place under the partially
opened window, as you would a window fan. It stays there all the time. It
works for me, and if you have a window, it might work for you too. Not sure
how secure that window is now, so you might not want to do this in an urban
area.

I did the same thing only I cut a piece of foam board so I could easily
remove the vent between firings. The last horizontal section of duct
which goes out the window is also removable.
