Mark, you didn't post your email address, (please, folks, my
program will only reply to Clayart, if that's where the message
comes from. My computer is old and cranky. It is useful to
have email listed with signature, she said again). So I have to
send this through the list, (maybe others will be interested too).

Eckles (Eckels??) pottery in Wisconsin (look at cover of CM a year
or two
back, maybe December or January of 95 or 96.) They are actively
looking for an/some apprentice(s). I know of one potter who
apprenticed there, Kevin Caufield of St. Paul. He really knows
what he's doing, and makes beautiful work besides. So - get
in touch with Eckles, might be helpful to you. I can say that
Kevin told me it is a classic apprenticeship. You'll work hard.
But that's what you're there for, right?

He has a minor in studio art and is currently writing articles for a local
art magazine. His name is Michael and his email adress is

I have just graduated with my BFA in visual art, emphasis in ceramics, and
am avidly looking for an apprenticeship opportunity. I was the studio
assistant at my school for 2 years so I have comprehensive knowledge of
basic studio upkeep. I am a hard worker and have good references. I also
have office skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. I am looking to
exchange studio work for room & board along with minor studio access. I
am willing to relocate anywhere. If you are in need of someone to do your
grunt work or help organize and run your business, I'm your gal!

Have you looked at the ads in Ceramic Monthly?
