I just went to the British Potters:The Dixon long collection at the SF craft
and Folk art museum. i was very disappointed in the lighting of the exhibit
and the fact that all th pots were placed against the wall so u couldn't walk
around them.

Still there were some interesting pieces..i was interested in Hans copers sack
vases ...mainly because i have no idea how it was done...and the belly vase
was also interesting. There was no information at all about the glazes or
lack thereof. bummer :(

The pieces from the Bernard Leach and his son David and his grandson John
sorts of showed a progression of minimalism...of course this could well have
been due to the pieces showen..of which there were not too many

I agree that the set-up was bad but the 2 pots by Lucie Rie alone were
worth $5 for my wife and myself.
Besides, spending the day in that part of SanFrancisco is always fun.
