I am looking for bright red stain to add to low-fire glazes. I do not want to
fire lead glazes and am looking for the equivalent of a fire engine or candy-
apple red color without any lead in it.
Two years ago I posted the same request and someone on Clayart sent me the
name of a supplier with a terrific red stain. I can not find that name and
suggestions would be great.

Although you will not get fire-engine or candy-apple reds, you can get nice
bright reds with Cerdec zirconium-encapsulated cadium stains. The brightest
reds are 279496 and 279497. They are available from Marin Ceramic Supply,
1(888)236-1492.
