Could anyone tell me how to get information about the studio tour and sale in
the upper St. Croix River valley of Minnesota?
Thanks in advance,

Hi Louise-
I don't have any info about the studio tour, but if you go out that way,
be sure to go out to Willem Gebben's place (near Cambridge, WI (i
think!!) if I remember right) - He makes really great wood-fired
functional stuff - Of course, Warren Mackenzie is in Stillwater too.
Best Wishes,
Rusty (a transplanted Minnesotan)

Willem Gebben's studio is just outside Colfax, WI (near Eau Claire, WI
and 45 minutes or so east of the Twin Cities). I wrote an article on
Gebben's Hillcrest Pottery in the Winter edition of the Minnesota Clay
newsletter. It is available at:

Louise: I don't have the addresses with me know but will get an
address for you. The best source is the Northern Clay Center and they
could put ypou in touch with Jeff Oestriech and others. Send me you
email address so I can reply further.

I just checked my Clayart Digest for the first time in weeks and saw mention
of the Minnesota Potters Tour, which is rapidly approaching: May 12th &
13th, Saturday and Sunday, 10am - 5pm.
For ten years seven potters along the Upper St. Croix River Valley have
opened their studios for a Tour and Sale, many of them inviting guests
artists from elsewhere to show their work.
The Potters (and their guests) are:
1. Robert Briscoe (Mary Barringer, Massachusetts; Matthew Metz, Minnesota)
2. Richard Vincent (Sandra and Winthrop Byers, Wisconsin)
3. Will Swanson and Janel Jacobson (Hayne Bayless, Connecticut; Neil
Patterson and Sandi Pierantozzi, Pennsylvania)
4. Linda Christianson (Lisa Buck, Jill Franke, Kirk Lyttle, Minnesota)
5. Jeff Oestreich (Malcolm Davis, Washington, DC; Greg Crowe, Sandy Lockwood
and Neil Hoffman, Australia)
6. Connie Mayerson and Fuller Cowles (Gail Kendall, Nebraska; Amy Sabrina,
Minnesota)
7. Richard Abnet
There is a website with maps and information on motels at:
www.minnesotapotters.com
Come see us.
Malcolm Davis in Minnesota, where the weather reports still speak of snow.

I would have to add Northern Clay Center to any "potter's visit" to the Twin
Cities.
