I am looking for either a good source or formula to make low fire
(^06 - 04) glaze crystals. I have a customer that uses a variety of
finishes and one of them is a crystal finish. Any help would be
appreciated.

Can anyone give any suggestions for forming crystals in low fire (04-06) =
glazes?

John Conrad's book ContemporaryCeramic formulas, has a fairly large section
on crystal glazes, both high fire and low fire. Mia in ABQ

With this molecular composition you can obtain a very beautifull
crystallized glaze (cone 04-02) :
Na2O = 0.067
K2O = 0.091
CaO = 0.121
BaO = 0.066
ZnO = 0.655
Al2O3 = 0.041
SiO2 = 0.920
TiO2 = 0.044
B2O3 = 0.290
You can make this recipe with frits, raw materials and oxides.
If You add a small amount of NiO (1% in weight ) to this composition, it
gives electric blue crystals on a yellow background.

Good luck, Cordialement, Smart
