Well the show is now down and in the mail back to the artists. I thought I
would share the list of award winners with the Clay Art group, seeing as how
many of you either participated in the show or got to see it during NCECA. For
those who didn't know, David Shaner was the exhibition juror and Jack Troy
served as the awards juror, picking some wonderful pieces from an overall group
of really high quality work--a tuff job well done. Thanks David and Jack...

The awards were as follows:

First Place - "Canyon Wall" by Penny Truit ( New Mexico )
Second Place - "Oasis" by Yoshiro Ikeda ( Kansas )
Third Place - "Vase" by Brad Schwieger ( Ohio )

Honorable Mentions went to:

"Moon Rising, Sun Setting" by Carolyn Dulin ( Michigan )
"Teapot" by David East ( Illinois )
"Fenestrated Form" by William Shinn ( California )

There were two Purchase Awards this year:

"Salt Glazed Vase" by Robert Compton ( Vermont )
"Faceted Coverd Jar" by Jason Hess ( Indiana )

In addition to all the awards there were a good number of pieces that sold from
the exhibition, about a third of the work. All in all a successful exhibit.
Many thanks to Dannon Rhudy, Jack Troy, David Shaner, the graduates and gallery
crew at the University of North Texas and Trinty Ceramics.

I should also take this opportunity to say that the web site is on its way, but
has been delayed. As soon as it is up and running I will send another post to
the group with the URL address. Sorry for the delay. These things happen.

Thanks again to all of you who supported the exhibition. Your kind comments and
thoughtful responses make all the effort worth it.
