silver nitrate question

updated mon 20 apr 98

Hi all!

I am planning on using a small amount of silver nitrate sprayed on a piece
that I will be raku'ing. I have been told that the silver cannot stay on
the piece very long before it is fired. Does anyone know how long a time
period I can have before I fire?

If you could e-mail me privately, I would be most grateful.

Thanks!

Hi!

I've used it on my raku fired boxes as long as 3-4 days prior to firing.
No problem. Just don't over handle the work (and be sure to use gloves:
unless you like purple finger that last and last and last!)
