Whimsical, funky and provoative works in clay by Ceramist/Sculptor Pat =
Wehrman
will be exhibited in the Craft Gallery at the Comox Valley Art Gallery from =
May
26 - June 20.
To complementthis exhibit CVAG, in conjuntion with the Community Arts =
Council
will be hosting Pat for a tile making workshop. Ceramic tiles are common
finishing materials found in bathrooms and as flooring and countertops. =
Pat's
off-beat, surreal style is sure to broaden many peoples' ideas about the =
lowly
tile.
Born in Burnaby, BC, Wehrman now lives in Somora, California where she =
creates
her originaltiles and sculptures. She has had numrous solo exhibitions in =
the
US as well as shows at the Old Schoolhouse in Qualicum Beach. She has done =
many
workshops and lectures and has had large private and public commissions in =
her
career.
The workshop will take place in the ceramic studio at the North Island =
College
from 9am - 12pm on Saturday and 10am - 2pm on Sunday. The cost for the =
workshop
is =24100 (CDN). A =24 50(CDN) non-refundable deposit is required by May =
16th.
Class size is limited to the first twenty participants to sign up. =
Materials
for the optional handson portion of the class will be available to purchase =
from
the College.
