hello all....
i have gotten about 80 unused hard fire bricks for FREE........some of them
are A.P. GREEN EMPIRES..... i know what they are.... but there are two other
kinds that i'm wondering if you know what they are and if they are good for
kiln building .
one says.... EMPIRE DP.... and the other says ....S-1 DP.......anybody know if
these are real high fire "fire bricks"........

Hank the Empire DP is a dry pressed brick.....that is what the "DP" is
for.....the S-1 DP I have not run into yet......generally any DP brick is a
med to high duty brick but having information will help your decision to use
it. If I had a few of the S-1's I would use them in the floor or chimney and
not in the hotter fire box area.
