lusters and metallics

Hi all,
I've heard that firing lusters and metallics in an electric kiln can cause
leaching of lead and or other toxics into the kiln itself so that present
and future firings of dishware would not be foodsafe. Is this true?

Thanks,
Centa

Centa,
I have heard that if you fire over-glazes at cone 014 that it is so fused
with the glaze that the leads can not leach out unless the glaze is melted
again. Is that true? Toni
