At a class I took I was introduced to Phoenix Clay which I like very
much but cannot get locally. Is there any Standard Ceramic clay that
would come close to it? Phoenix fires ^6-^10 and is a white clay and I
find easy to work.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. lauras@ezonline

If I'm not mistaken they do not fire ^6 thru ^10.

Don't remember who originally wanted to know about Phoenix clay but
Highwater Clay's in Ashville, NC sells it. It is a stoneware that fires Cone
6 - 10. I don't have the phone number or price in front of me but e-mail me
directly for info. If this has already been posted, my apologies.

According to the Standard Ceramics catalog, #181 fires cone 6 to 8 and
#182 is cone 8.
