Hello all,
It has been pointed out to me that the URL I sent to the list for a site
about Chinese Bronze casting which uses clay piece molds didn't
translate properly when tramsmited. Evidently the Netscape mail program
truncates any URL that is very long. It cuts off the last several
letters of the address and makes it useless.
If you combine the following two lines into the browser address (no
spaces) you can get there:
http://www.easc.indiana.edu/Pages/EASC/curriculum/
china/1996/EACPWorkBook/art/bronze.htp
Sorry if you tried and couldn't get there using the original posting of
this URL
cheers

Jim,
You may have to actually copy and paste the second line, and then go
back and copy and paste the first line into the front half of the
address window. OR you may have to actually type it in UGH! ;-) I am
positive all of the correct info is there. I tried it myself using the
post I sent and I got there. I did this just a minute ago.
For some reason, I don't know why, if you copy the first line first and
the second line second you get an error message.
cheers

A Web/URL note:
Don't know if this tip will help any of you, I may be just repeating
what you already know, but here goes....This is an exceptionally long
URL. In cases like this and others where I have major problems getting
directly to a page imbedded in a very complex site with lots of links to
other sites, I try to find the major directory for the site or if that
fails, to truncate the URL to the home page, which in this case is
www.easc.indiana.edu. After that it was only a short hop to the correct
page, which was fairly deep in the site. Took about as much time as
typing in the rest of the long URL and then waiting to see if anything
happened. This strategy has been fairly successful, and I've come out
with some other interesting information along the way.
