I don't know about the Isle of Skye, but in Edinburgh, the Royal Museum of Art
has the best organized collection of pottery I've ever seen. It's based
chronologically on the technical developments in Ceramics.
Great permanent display, more than the entire top floor.

Beth,
Keep an eye out for Iain Nelson. He is a wonderful potter. I knew him at U.
of Iowa in 1963 as a graduate assistant. He's a neato guy...but I don't know
where in Scotland he has settled. If you find him let me know.

Check out the Scottish potfest on - http://www.potfest.co.uk
150 potters from all over the U.K. plus a few from Mainland Europe
selling heir work at the biggest event of its kind in Scotland. About 40
Scottish potters will be exhibiting and most of the rest will be there
to see whats going on. It takes place on June 13/14th, in Perth, less
than one hour from Glasgow or Edinburgh. All those taking part are on
the potfest directory including Alan Freestone from Uig Pottery on the
isle of Skye.
Watch out for the midges on Skye.
Geoff and Chris Cox - getting more nervous by the minute as the date
gets closer.
