It can work as a good patch on greenware, but as with most patches, the
shrinkage often shows up the patch after firing. The paperfiber also
changes the density of the clay, so the patch will be more pourous than
the rest of your clay. But in a pinch, a paperclay patch of the same base
clay is probably better than a non-paperclay patch for really hanging in
there and not cracking more.
